They've now got 4 of the 7 points I felt were needed in the games after the bye in January. I'd hope for 8 now since the next two games are against teams they are battling for playoff position. But I'll still take 7.

Bill, I noticed there link to for "prospects" or "in the system" under the TEAM tab on the Flyers website is gone. Many other team's sites still have it. Any idea why they took it off?

Was outdated info, so that's likely why Joe removed it. Will return at some point.

Sons of Penn has been doing a great job of keeping tabs on all Flyer related news, including great up to date coverage on the prospects. Basically everyone in Lehigh is crushing it (they killed the baby sens tonight 7/2), Lindblom is lighting up the Shl and Rubstov finally showed up in the CHL and had a great first weekend (four points).

Yeah. He played a fantastic game. We can't expect this every night though. Team will really have to play well vs a super fast Leafs team on a roll. Can't take two periods off like last night.

that was a fast game last night. A year ago no way the Flyers could keep pace with the Rangers. They have a ways to go, but you could see the team speed improvement.

Shambles is a little strong chachi your team was outplayed most of the game mason and your pp won the game for you just like I said last night. You needed the win more then we did so if I were you I'd be more worried about how you started the game instead of finished it

I saw little to no improvement. Lot of puck luck and great play by mason

Flyers needed a win like that. Mason was solid and deserved every bit of that shutout

I agree, you guys have a 9-point lead for that first WC spot and could land a top-3 spot with a little run. I'd gladly switch spots in the standings.

The Flyers did get heavily outplayed the first 18 minutes, but they only yielded a few high-danger areas which, as you said, Mason was able to come up big on.

The thing for the Flyers that was good to see was that they got better as the game progressed. They didn't press, they didn't start beating themselves, and they kept their effort up. They got a few bounces go their way and they (and Mason) were able to fend off NY's attack. It wasn't a perfect game, far from it, but given the preceding month of hockey, we'll gladly take it.

The team defense, aside from the first 18 minutes, was able to help limit the high-danger chances (not using metrics, just general usage) last night, and Mason played very well at gobbling up whatever they left. They were able to keep pace with the Rangers through the latter 40 minutes of the game. I don't know if there was a drastic improvement from last year, but they worked hard, didn't get frustrated, and were rewarded.

Mason will need to have another great performance if they are to have any chance tonight. The Leafs speed will just cause nightmares for that Dcore.. Matthews, Marner,Nylander. Guys like Kadri, Bozak, and JVR are all playing consistent solid hockey.
The Leafs have only really played 1 bad game in Jan. Lets hope the Flyers can get some 5-5 production, they will need it big time.

On Simmer's goal a Ranger tries to clear the puck from in front of the crease. He flubbed it right to Simmer and Boom Goal.

Then Jake gets the typical (against us) off 2 opposing players and by the goalie goes the puck.

I'll take puck luck on our side with our goalie standing on his head for how many times it's happened to us.

I didnt see it that way..

The Rangers carried the first and part of the second.
The Flyers carried part of the second and the third..

Mason was the Flyers best player while Simmonds made a great shot for the game winning goal.

Mason was great. Especially in the first period. Could have easily been 3-0, and game over. Good to see him playing well. Wish he would get some help in front of him.

Their speed seemed to get better as they got further into the period. Which was when they were getting the most pressure.
